Yes Sir, the Blackbeard Pirate Festival, in Hampton, Va, is here again – the biggest, best pirate festival on the East Coast. Three days of pirates, buccaneers, privateers, swashbucklers and ne’er do wells coming together to celebrate that most notorious of pirates, BLACKBEARD! A Friday night Pirates Ball, where the finest and well knows pirates all come out to party with The Brigands, the SHips COmpany and other crews. A pay in advance event, it is the only one this weekend. The rest of the Festival is a free event. Tall ships, cannon and small arms demonstrations, parrots, a real pirate encampment, games and kids activities in their own special area and a Shanty Sing Saturday evening. If your planning on going to ONE pirate event this year, Blackbeard should be your choice! It is the heart of The Brigands concert season and it will be our 11th year participating. Terrible preformance, an experience I would hesitate to repeat! Too many funny lyrics and bad jokes. Too many families and people having a good time. AND it was FAR too sunny out, which is also YOUR FAULT!!! Keep it up mates we all had a blast!
